What? Open, rolling auditions. Actors will audition with cold reads from the script.

Oscar Wilde’s Salome (Retold)

Salome is Oscar Wilde’s retelling of John the Baptist’s beheading from the Gospel of Matthew. Star Stuff Theatre reimagines Wilde’s biblical tragedy as it might occur today: inside the megamansions of human trafficking “OnlyFans managers,” like the Tate Brothers & Nikita Tyukalo. These violent misogynists are the picture of where the dirty old men of the Epstein files got their start: as scheming, charming, and even attractive young men.

Casting Call

King Herod - Male, 20s-30s. Newly-installed Tetrarch of Judea. Andrew Tate brand of asshole.

Herodias - Female, late 30s-60s. Mother of Salome. Newly wedded (against her wishes) to her brother-in-law, King Herod.

Jokanaan - Male, 20s-30s. The Prophet, AKA John the Baptist. Not not an incel-type.

Ensemble - Any, all genders. Any, all ages. Six to eight actors will play servants of the palace & cronies of King Herod. Clowns of all sorts.

Availability Information

Rehearsal Period: A few table reads/discussions in December 2026. Four weekday evening rehearsals a week throughout January and February 2027.
Scheduling will be based upon actors' availability. Individual actors will not be called to every single rehearsal.

Tech Rehearsals (Required Attendance): February 22, 23, 24, 2027 in the evening

Shows (Required Attendance): February 25, 26, 27 @ 7:00pm (also 27 @ 2:00pm), 2027
